Start with the complete process
A cooked shrimp line is a connected process rather than one machine. The equipment should protect product temperature, hygiene and gentle handling from receiving through packing.
The final arrangement depends on shrimp size, cooking method, target capacity, number of grades and the required frozen product format.
Common equipment stages
A representative line may include a bubble washer, cooker or blancher, cooling system, ice-water pre-cooler, shrimp grading machine, inspection conveyor, distributor, IQF freezer and weighing or packing equipment.
Conveyors and elevators connect the stages while helping operators inspect product and maintain a clean, controlled flow.
- Washing and product preparation
- Cooking or blanching where required
- Ambient-water and ice-water cooling
- Shrimp grading and inspection
- IQF freezing and product distribution
- Weighing, packing and cold storage
Why cooling and grading must be coordinated
Cooked shrimp should normally be cooled before mechanical grading because warm product is more fragile. The grader should receive an even feed and be matched to the downstream freezer and packing capacity.
If one stage is significantly faster or slower than the next, accumulation and uneven loading can affect product quality and line efficiency.
Information needed for line design
For a useful proposal, provide shrimp species, raw or cooked condition, incoming size range, target capacity, number of grades, product temperature, power standard, factory space and packing format. Photos or a simple flow diagram are also useful.
